Letter from a Past Guest

"The following occurred on my wife and my visit to your hotel in the summer of 2003. My wife Debbie and I took a trip to Glacier National Park in 2003. We drove from Big Sky, Montana and arrived later than we had anticipated. We needed a room for only one night and checked in rather late - about 9:30p.m..

We were given a room on the 2nd floor and after a quick dinner we retired to bed. I awoke about 1:30 a.m. and went to the bathroom. When I left the bathroom a large black cloud appeared right in front of the bathroom door. I jumped and it moved back as I moved toward it and I saw it move to the back of the room. I figured I was just sleepy or dreaming so I went back to bed.

At about 5:00a.m. I again went to the bathroom and this time as I left the bathroom the big black cloud was there and moved very slowly away. It was cool and roughly in the shape of a large person but in a silhouette form - very much like an upright black cloud. The "cloud" moved back slowly as I approached and seemed very interested in observing me.

It was just hovering near me but I felt no fear - just amazement at what was occurring. It moved to the back wall as before and just stayed there. I crawled back into bed and it seemed to disappear into the wall. I lay there for a while awake but eventually fell back asleep.

I awoke and told my wife Debbie about it and she smiled - thinking I was making it all up. We then got dressed and headed downstairs - that's when we saw the newspaper articles on the walls. We asked about the "ghost" and were told the many stories and sightings. I can add my sighting to the list.

It was a fun sighting and I enjoyed the time I spent with the "ghost of Belton Chalet". It is the only ghost I have ever encountered."
